Mia + Nijah are the absolute sweetest couple and you could feel the love coming from them and their wedding day was such a reflection of their love for each other!
September 20 2024 was a sunny, warm, breezy day in Chicago at the National Museum for Puerto Rican Arts and Culture. The morning was spent setting up the lawn for their outdoor ceremony. Mia was the ultimate DIY floral bride and made all her florals for the day! They even made the arch that was the backdrop of the ceremony.
Mia and Nijah had their first look at Humboldt Park and took some family photos there as well. They also shared some private vows before the ceremony which is the sweetest idea ever! Guests arrived and found a ornate fan placed on each chair which served as the favor but also came in handy with the warm afternoon!
The most sentimental part of the entire day was the Officiant which was Nijah's Grandmother. She was so nervous before the ceremony but she did such a great job and it was such a sweet and special moment!
Cocktail hour featured a Puerto Rican Bomba performance from a local performing arts center. The guests loved dancing to the music! The guests were ushered into the Reception space which was under a covered tent in the courtyard. The guests found their table number on the champagne wall which was handmade by Mia's family member!
Guests enjoyed the bride and groom's Grand Entrance and First Dance and enjoyed dinner provided by Mia's parents restaurant, Nellie's! Heartfelt speeches from both Mia and Nijahs Mothers and best friends were a highlight of the night. Guests had cake, mini cupcakes, and cookies for dessert while they hit the dance floor! All the guests were on the dance floor all night, everyone had a great time!
Mia and Nijah's love for each other shined through throughout the entire day from beginning to end. Their families were the most incredible, warm, kind, and friendly people and I truly enjoyed spending time with everyone! It was such an honor to be able to be apart of such a wonderful couples big day and ensure that they were able to enjoy their day and not have any worries!
The Scarlett's day was such a great day and I loved being a part of it!
