The final countdown is on! You have sooo many little things on your to-do list 1 month out from your wedding day- here are some questions to ask yourself to make sure you've got all the details covered!

I also made a Reel about this topic, check it out here!

Who is setting up your wedding decor?

Tasking someone to set up decor sometimes gets overlooked! Some couples may think the venue will set up your decor, but they wont! Your florist might take care of setting up your floral centerpieces and the venue might take care of setting up tables and linens. The caterer might take care of tableware. But who is setting up your welcome table, signage, table numbers, seating chart, etc? You are responsible for setting up personal items that you bring into the venue!

Your Day-Of Coordinator (MEEE) might be able to assist with this but if you are bringing in 20 boxes of decor and DIY centerpieces, you'll have to hire someone or task a friend or family member to help set it up!

Who is bustling your dress after your ceremony?

This is a time consuming task! Typically, when you go for your last dress fitting, your bridal shop will show your Mom, MOH, or whoever is with you how to bustle your dress. Make sure to take a video of them doing this to reference when it comes time to actually do it!

What songs are you playing?

Your DJ will ask you this but start thinking about what songs will be played during key moments of the day. Things like Parents, Groom, Bridal Party Processional down the aisle, of course the Brides Processional, and also think about after the ceremony what song is playing while you're walking back down the aisle after becoming Mr & Mrs! Also think about your Grand Entrance into the reception for your Wedding Party and the Bride and Groom entrance! Cake cutting is also another opportunity for a particular song to be played. Work with your DJ to ensure all these special moments throughout the night are highlighted with a song!

Who is cutting and serving your wedding cake?

Cutting a wedding cake is a HUGE undertaking! Sometimes couples assume the caterer will cut and serve the cake, and that's not always the case. Some caterers will not do this or its an extra add on fee to their catering service. Sometimes a wedding venue coordinator will do this but always ask beforehand! Nothing worse than looking around during your reception and trying to figure out who will cut 175 pieces of cake! Check with your caterer first if they offer this service, they would be the most equipped to cut the cake!

Who is packing up and taking home all of your wedding decor at the end of the night?!

One of the most commonly forgotten about details! Soooo much emphasis is placed on setting up decor and making sure its perfect and couples tend to forget about who is taking it all down!! Some couples choose to hire someone specifically for decor set-up and take down or your Day-Of Coordinator might be able to assist with this if it's within their set time frame or possibly it's an add on service.

You might want to assign a few friends or family members to stay late after the reception and help pack up all your decor and belongings and load it into cars! Typically, the venue does not do this for you and they require everything to be packed up and everyone gone by a certain time - 12AM for example. Some venues will allow you leave the decor boxed up overnight for pickup in the morning. Always check with your venue to make sure what their specific rules are around this.

How are you getting back to the hotel after your reception?

I know it sounds silly, but this sometimes this gets overlooked! Lots of planning goes into transportation for Wedding Party from getting ready locations and photo locations. Transportation from Ceremony to Reception venues, to guest transportation, but sometimes the Bride and Groom overlook how they are getting back to their hotel or wherever they are spending the night especially if they do not have a shuttle back and forth for guests at the end of the night!

Story- My Husband and I actually called an UBER to take us back to our hotel after our wedding! The UBER driver had no idea she was picking up the bride and groom and she was sooo excited when we walked over and got in! It was super fun for all of us and it costed ALOT less than a limo or party bus! HA!

You have so much to do and think about 1 month out from your wedding day, I hope these questions were able to help you make your wedding month a little easier! Have the best wedding day ever!

Happy Planning!
